This course introduces leadership through the perspective of psychology. It centers on three key themes: leadership and personality, emotional intelligence, and attachment theory. Through lectures, discussions, readings, and an on-campus immersion, we explored the role of self-awareness in leadership, the impact of personality on leadership success and failure, and how attachment theory informs personal growth.
I was surprised by how much I learned about myself throughout this course. The self-reflection exercises and attachment theories provided valuable insights into my personal identity and behavior. My artifact from the course is my Emotional Intelligence (EQ) Assessment, which I found particularly enlightening. Ultimately, I gained a deeper appreciation for the importance of empathy and how to effectively incorporate it into leadership.
