Celebrating life one run, one glass, and one adventure at a time

605 imagine, create, lead

This course serves to orient students to the ORGL program and Gonzaga experience, which included a three-day immersion focused on the role of imagination in leadership. The experiential format fosters peer and faculty engagement, promoting relationships that support student success. Throughout the course, we explored key creativity concepts under the theme “seeing and seeing again,” applying and expanding imaginative capacities through Ignatian perspectives and liberal arts disciplines.

Active listening is highlighted as a vital leadership skill throughout the course material. During the immersion, we were encouraged to step outside the classroom for a period of quiet reflection, simply being still and present. This experience challenged us to truly listen, not just to others, but to the world around us, deepening our awareness and presence. By cultivating this attentive mindset, we become better able to understand diverse perspectives, foster empathy, and enhance collaborative problem-solving, all of which strengthen our effectiveness as leaders in varied settings. My artifact is my final project for this course focused on the theme of listening.
